Cities Written in Tiles

Shot on 35mm across Porto and Lisbon, this series wanders through two cities where colour, pattern, and movement shape everyday life. Autumn arrived gently, feeling more like the final breath of summer. Warm afternoons drifting into long evenings beside the river, glasses of wine shared beneath glowing streetlights and the silhouettes of Porto’s iconic bridges. Across both cities, mosaics and azulejo tiles unfold like stories across walls and stations, turning ordinary streets into living galleries. Days were measured in steps, climbing hills, crossing rivers, and slowly tracing neighbourhoods. While Lisbon’s trams carried moments of pause, riding back and forth through the city’s rhythm.
